The American "Avatar" - Need for "Professional Evolution"
In 2004, after 23 years of teaching mathematics, he realized the need for his own "professional evolution" and came to the United States to fulfill his dream of doing research in the field of mathematics education. At the Robert B. Davis Institute for Learning (RBDIL), Graduate School of Education at Rutgers University, New Jersey, he was involved in various research projects in the field of mathematics education. Within 4 years, he completed his Ed.D. (Doctor of Education) Program. The title of his dissertation thesis is “Urban Students Developing Algebraic Ideas in an Informal After-School Program” which helped him understand the needs of students outside of school. This understanding coupled with the fact that there was a genuine and a dire need for tutoring services in the United States encouraged him to again start Scholar Tutorials in New Jersey. The American avatar of Scholar Tutorials took shape on 1628 Oak Tree Road, Edison, New Jersey in September 2006. Scholar Tutorials was born again, this time in the United States! |
